The exhibition will promote artists of South Asian origin and will be held on Mar 17, 12 - 5 PM at Maynard Elks, Maynard. A maximum of 6 artists works will be showcased. Asian themes are preferred for most works, but a few fusion/general categories are also acceptable.

1. Each registered artist will be given a long table for displays. No separate easels will be provided. Artists can bring their easels but they will have to be displayed within the allowed table area. You are advised to bring additional spotlights (we have ceiling recessed lights). Paintings and drawings can be shown. Photographs are not allowed.

2. Most medium of painting will be permitted, except for perishable goods. If in doubt, please ask us.

3. Framing a picture is advised but not necessary.

4. All items shown should be available for sale with clearly identifiable names and price tags. Artists should have a significant portfolio (at least 8-10 pieces) for display.

5. Calcutta Club USA, as the show gallery host, will handle the financial transactions of all sales, in cash, check or credit card. A percentage of sales will be set aside for the host. Sales tax will be collected by host from the buyer and given to the artist; it is the artist's responsibility to report all sales tax on sold properties to their state.

6. To be considered as an exhibit artist, please send us a scan of two representative pieces of your artwork. Once approved by our board, you can register online as an Artist here. Please also send your brief bio as an artist. We reserve the right to use the submitted artwork copies for Cuisinart promotional material only, including flyers, brochures and website.

7. Each product for sale should display a name, a price, size of poster, medium and artist name. For example:

8. As in Cuisinart 2017, we will have a Live Art program to the accompaniment of music & dance. This year, we are hoping to add several young talented artists in the Live Art segment. Several dancers will participate in a dance sequence for 30-45 minutes during which the artists will paint real time on canvas. The live paintings will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to charity after costs deductions. Interested young artists and dancers are welcome to contact us through channels provided below.

Live Art Show and Charity Auction

An innovative and novel offering of Cuisinart is the Live Art Show, introduced last year. In this segment, two artists make a timed canvas painting in approximately half an hour, to the tune of an exotic musical choreography. Last year, the dance theme was Indian classical music. This year, we will celebrate folk dances from multiple states, performed by students of Boston area schools. It's a spellbinding show, which has no rehearsal - as art takes form rapidly. As soon as the program ends, the painting must complete - after which, they will be auctioned to charity. Last year, we raised enough money to donate to ASHA Students Organization of Acton Boxboro High School, which supported one year of education of 6 girls from Prerna Girls School in Lucknow. We hope to achieve a similar target this year.

Our live artists this year will be Meera Singh and Giridhar Pottepalem. It takes a lot of courage to take on this challenge, so we are very grateful to them for volunteering their services. Accompanying them are the following dancers:

Devotional Folk
Shikha Bajpai
Tina Chetan
Purbi Rana
Punjabi Bhangra
Devishi Jain
